Pizza Grille 3 Closes Project Financing with CREDC
HARRISBURG, PA (March 11, 2011) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (HRC/CREDC) announced today that it provided $468,000 in financing through the federal SBA 504 loan program. This financing has allowed The Pizza Grille 3, Inc. to acquire the land and building located at 1007 Ritner Highway, Carlisle, PA 17013. Additionally, project funds will be spent to remodel and renovate the property in the same theme as the restaurant's existing two area locations.
The Pizza Grille, which is owned and operated by Douglas and Deborah Barry, has two existing locations in Lemoyne (since 2000) and Camp Hill (since 2005). The new location will be on Ritner Highway in the Borough of Carlisle, which is a busy road in a developing area approximately two blocks away from Dickinson College. The new and existing locations serve specialty pizzas, salads, pastas, appetizers, soup, sandwiches and a wide selection of entrees. Decor for all locations is contemporary for an upscale casual dining atmosphere. The restaurant has won the Harrisburg Magazine Readers Poll "Simply the Best" award for best pizza six years in a row (2005 through 2010).
"Carlisle is pleased to welcome Pizza Grille as the latest addition to our selection of high quality and high demand restaurants. We are especially pleased that the owners have chosen to locate at and rehabilitate a potential brownfield site", said Perry Heath, Carlisle Borough Council Member and Chairman of the Borough's Economic Development Committee. "The confidence and commitment to operate in Carlisle is a testament to our community's development and growth. The assistance offered by CREDC was essential for this transaction to occur."
The SBA 504 loan along with financing from Members 1st Federal Credit Union enabled the Barrys to expand their business and open a third location. The project had a total economic impact of $1,151,016, and will create 40 new jobs.
