Mikado Gets New Location With Help From CREDC

HARRISBURG, PA (February 8, 2010) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC (HRC/CREDC) announced today that it provided $497,000 in financing through the SBA 504 direct loan program to help Mikado Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar relocate their restaurant to 4717 Carlisle Pike, Hampden Township, Cumberland County.  CREDC's loan along with financing from Metro Bank supported the building purchase and renovations.  The new location is approximately 3200 square feet larger than the previous space and provides additional seating and hibachi grills for Mikado's very entertaining style of dining.

Owners, Tho and Oanh Tran relocated to this area from Jacksonville, FL to be closer to family when they decided to start their own restaurant. They opened Mikado in 2005 in The Hampden Center shopping center and quickly gained notoriety for fresh, high quality sushi.  Soon Mikado began winning "Simply the Best" awards from Harrisburg Magazine.  The popularity of Mikado was encouraging and the couple opened Mikado 2 in 2007 which is located at 408 North Mountain Road in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.   The new Cumberland County location will provide better visibility for their restaurant and much more space to accommodate growth.

HRC/CREDC has formed a strategic partnership with the South Eastern Economic Development Company of PA to provide SBA 504 loans to our region.  As a result of this arrangement, HRC/CREDC provides borrowers local representation, as well as a closing attorney that's close to home.

The Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC), is the economic development arm of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber, and is the leading organization for promoting and performing economic development activities in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties.  The group offers a variety of programs and resources to help attract, retain and expand business in the region.
