The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC Helps Local Manufacturer Improve Production
HARRISBURG, PA (July 28, 2008) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC (HRC/CREDC) announced today that it provided financing to Star Screen Printing, Inc., a local manufacturer of apparel and other promotional products, to help purchase and improve a new building and update equipment located at 2409 Herr Street, Borough of Penbrook, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The new building will double production space and provides two docks for deliveries and shipments; the new equipment to be purchased includes a screen printer and an automatic screen washer to increase the Company's operation efficiency.
Star Screen Printing is a national supplier of screen printed and embroidered products on all types of fabrics including, but not limited to apparel. The company uses a highly trained and professional staff that utilizes the latest equipment and technology. They carry an extensive inventory including sportswear from every major mill ready to be customized to any specification.

HRC/CREDC provided a Small Business First (SBF) loan of $200,000 in conjunction with Susquehanna Bank financing and equity contributions. Total project costs were over $400,000, and this project will help create and retain 8 full time jobs within three years. The SBF loan program is designed to stimulate the expansion and assist in the retention of small business for the purpose of creating new jobs and retaining existing jobs in Pennsylvania. This important program is administered by the Commonwealth's Department of Community and Economic Development and is funded with the ongoing support of the Administration and the General Assembly.
