Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC Hold Chamber Business Women (CBW) Event
HARRISBURG (February 28, 2008) - Yesterday, at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East, over 100 people attended the Chamber Business Women event, "Looking Beyond Titles", sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). The event featured a presentation from Kendra Ruhl, Director of Human Resources, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. The message of the presentation was to look beyond titles to improve yourself and your organization through teamwork and communication.
"I'm so grateful to the Harrisburg Regional Chamber for launching the Chamber Business Women program for all women members no matter their title with their company," stated CBW Steering Committee co-chair, Amber Lovette. "This additional opportunity was a much needed function of the chamber as evident through our incredible attendance at all the events last year. All the volunteers on the different committees have worked so hard to make the 2008 programs go above and beyond the initial year's offerings. We can all learn from each other and here is yet another avenue provided by the Chamber to do so."
This year, the CBW will be partnering with the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg and collect donations at each event. Yesterday, items collected included new towels, washcloths and children's hooded towels.
The mission of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC's Chamber Business Women (CBW) is t o promote progression and advancement of businesswomen through education and sharing of ideas and experiences. The only requirement for membership to the CBW is to be a member, in good standing, with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC. Members are encouraged to participate on one of the several committees the CBW offers - Programming/Events, Membership/Communication and Community Relations. Prospective members can not serve on CBW committees.
