The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC Assists Aa to Zz Child Care and Learning Center to Expand Facility
HARRISBURG, PA (January 12, 2007) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC (HRC/CREDC) announced today that it provided financing to Ryan & Ashleigh Zimmerman, the owners of Aa t o Zz Child Care and Learning Center, Inc., to purchase and renovate a building located along Hershey Road in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, PA. The Zimmerman's were leasing the bottom floor of this location to operate the child care business. The purchase of this building has allowed them to renovate and expand their operation to the 2 nd floor, which provided additional space to add a certified Kindergarten program and additional children.
Aa to Zz Child Care and Learning Center, Inc. was formed in June of 2004. Ashleigh's teaching experience includes time serving Susquehanna Township School District as a French teacher and Wordsworth Academy in various capacities. The center reached maximum capacity of 53 children as regulated by the Department of Public Welfare in just one year of operation. The expansion of class room space to the 2nd floor will allow the center to serve 96 students.
"CREDC gave us a great low fixed rate on a mortgage, "stated Ryan Zimmerman, Treasurer. "Without CREDC's help, we would not have been approved to buy the building our day care center is currently in. We would welcome the opportunity to work with CREDC again on future endeavors."
HRC/CREDC provided a Small Business First (SBF) loan of $175,000, in conjunction with Vartan Bank financing and other equity contributions. The SBF loan program is designed to stimulate the expansion and assist in the retention of small business for the purpose of creating new jobs and retaining existing jobs in Pennsylvania . This important program is administered by the Commonwealth's Department of Community and Economic Development and is funded with the ongoing support of the Administration and the General Assembly.
