The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC Helps Guth Laboratories Purchase New Equipment
HARRISBURG, PA (January 18, 2007) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC (HRC/CREDC) announced today that it provided financing to Guth Laboratories, Inc. to purchase a custom designed radar set calibration and repair system. The new system will allow Guth Laboratories, Inc. to meet the increasing demand for radar calibration.
Richard U. Guth, P.E. founded Guth Laboratories Inc. in 1976. Mr. Guth acquired several patents and turned his company's focus to increasing the accuracy and precision of breath test simulators. Guth simulators and certified alcohol reference solutions have been accepted as the standard of the industry worldwide. They are approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and are listed in the U.S. Federal Register Conforming Products List (CPL). Guth Laboratories, Inc. has also developed quality alcohol fuel cells used in portable alcohol hand carried Preliminary Breath Testers (PBT) and Evidential Breath Testers (EBT). The Guth fuel cell is also used in automotive interlock systems. Richard Guth, Nancy Guth, & Ted Pauley (President) run the day to day operations of Guth Laboratories, Inc.
"As a recipient of economic assistance from CREDC, Guth Laboratories, Inc. will be able to advance in radar calibration technology for Pennsylvania State Police and provide additional employment for the capital region," stated Richard Guth. "Guth Laboratories, Inc. is also a national and global supplier of alcohol breath test products. These products have aided law enforcement, government and military agencies throughout the world."
HRC/CREDC provided a Small Business First (SBF) loan of $75,000, in conjunction with PNC Bank financing and other equity contributions. The SBF loan program is designed to stimulate the expansion and assist in the retention of small business for the purpose of creating new jobs and retaining existing jobs in Pennsylvania . This important program is administered by the Commonwealth's Department of Community and Economic Development and is funded with the ongoing support of the Administration and the General Assembly.
